April Beauty Favourites ♡

Hi everyone! Today I am back with my favourite beauty products the month; I love doing these posts because I always find it so interesting to see another person’s view on different products, and you get to have a sneak peak into what’s living inside my beauty cupboard. All of these products are new to me; I have only picked them up over the past few weeks, so I’ll be able to give you my first impressions on them as well. As always, make sure to tell me what you have been loving in the month of April in the comments below!

Simple Face Wash

SIMPLE Face Wash and Moisturiser

I have never tried anything from the Simple range, and it’s fair to say I’m quite impressed with the two products I picked up. I originally set out to buy a new light moisturiser, but ended up buying these two that claim to treat spotless skin, with results after just one day! The face wash is more like an exfoliator, which is full of zinc and chamomile goodness. I have been using this every morning … It leaves my face feeling really refreshed and clean! I can definitely tell that the moisturiser was designed for blemished prone skin, as it is quite a drying and matte moisturiser. If you already have dry skin, I would suggest steering clear of this product, as it will most likely dry out your skin even further. In saying that, I have normal to oily skin so it is perfect for me. It has natural antibacterial agents in it and also has ingredients such as Zinc and Aloe Vera, which are great natural healing agents. Long story short, these are great products (even if you don’t have blemished skin) and are really affordable at around $8 each.

Australis Primer

AUSTRALIS Blemish Buster Primer

Continuing on with the blemished skincare products, this primer is AMAZING! I basically love everything by Australis, and when I saw that this was part of their new range of face products, I had to pick it up. This primer claims to heal and soothe redness whilst moisturising and hydrating the skin. First of all, I have no idea if this actually does improve or heal acne or blemished skin. As my skin is quite clear at the moment I don’t really have a basis to judge on either. But what I do love about this primer is the feel and texture of it on my skin, it is absolute heaven! It is a lightweight gel primer, so it feels like silicon on your face. I have never used a primer that has felt so smooth and left my skin feeling so soft. It is a little bit pricey for Australis at around $16, but I will definitely be repurchasing this.

Rimmel London BB Cream

RIMMEL London Radiance BB Cream

I have been looking for the perfect BB cream for a while now, and am so excited and relived that I have finally found the one for me. Because I am basically working every single day, therefore wearing makeup every day, I needed something that wasn’t as heavy and full coverage. The hard thing with BB creams is finding the perfect colour for you. Unfortunately a lot of BB creams have pink undertones, which doesn’t look right on people with olive skin and yellow undertones like myself. This BB cream by Rimmel is the first BB cream I have found that has the perfect colour for my skin tone, YAY! Unfortunately there are only three colours in the range, but the darkest shade ‘medium’ is absolutely perfect for me. This BB cream gives such a beautiful and healthy radiance to your skin, and has just the right amount of light coverage. I do have to admit that I found it a little bit tricky to figure out at first, but I have learnt that to get the best results you should apply this product to a very clean base (no moisturiser or primer) otherwise it can get a little bit muddy. I would love to hear your opinion on this product if you have tried it, leave me a comment if you have!

Daiso Makeup Brush Cleaner

DAISO Puff and Sponge Detergent

First of all, if you haven’t been to a Daiso store before, you need to go! Daiso is a Japanese store that literally sells everything under the sun, all for $2.80. For all of my Newcastle followers, there is a store in Stockland Glendale. Another thing you must do is get your hands on this makeup brush cleaner/detergent, it is an absolute miracle worker! Before I purchased this, I would always clean my makeup brushes with regular shampoo, which does the job but takes a while and requires a few washes to be completely clean. This detergent literally cleans my brushes in seconds, and leaves them spotless. All you need to do is put a drop of the detergent in a glass with some water, whirl your brush around for a few seconds and your done!

Vera Wang Princess

VERA WANG Princess Perfume

Okay so I’m pretty sure I’m the last person to jump on the bandwagon for this perfume, but I’m so glad I have. I picked up this perfume on a really good sale from Chemist Warehouse; I got the 30ml bottle for $20, which is such a bargain! Chemist Warehouse always have crazy sales on perfume, so make sure you check them out first if you want to buy this perfume or any others. It’s so hard to describe the scent of a perfume, but I’ll give it a shot. To me, this is a really girly and feminine scent, without being too heavy and overpowering. It smells a little bit of vanilla mixed with floral scents, and is really wearable for an everyday use. I definitely think this perfume is a must for any staple collection.

January Beauty Haul

Today I’m doing a little haul on some of the beauty products I received for Christmas, and also just picked up myself. I love trying out new products, and am always on the search for my holy grail makeup and beauty items! There are still SO many products I want to try, and get my hands on, but for now I hope you all enjoy this little haul. Let me know if you have tried any of these products, and make sure to give me some recommendations for my next purchase!

The Body Shop

  1. The Body Shop

I don’t usually shop at ‘The Body Shop’, simply because I’m not really into bath and body products that much. Plus I’ve always thought they were a bit overpriced. However, I received these gifts for Christmas and absolutely love them! I’ve always thought the Body Shop makes great gifts, and love the fact that most of their products include fair trade ingredients. I received the Coconut Body Milk Lotion, which is a really light spray-on moisturiser. It smells absolutely delicious, and exactly like summer! I also received this Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion … And this is so incredible. I REALLY love this product. If you have blemish prone skin like myself, then you need this in your life. The lotion sinks into the skin to help improve the appearance of blemish damaged skin, and leaves your face feeling so soft and smooth.

Essence Mascara

  1. Essence Mascara

I bought this mascara after a recommendation by beauty YouTuber Dani Mansutti, claiming it was the best mascara she had ever used. Let me just start by saying this mascara is SOOO cheap! I bought mine from Priceline for under $5.00, such a bargain. The best thing is that it actually is an amazing mascara; it makes my lashes really full and thick, without being clumpy. I can’t stand clumpy mascara’s, so this one is perfect for me. There are a few others in the range as well, so I would definitely recommend trying these out.

Boe Beauty

  1. Boe Beauty

Another absolute bargain! Boe Beauty is sold in Big W stores here in Australia, and has recently reinvented itself. It used to be a really low-end beauty brand, but in the past few months it has come out with some ‘higher’ end products as part of their new line, though everything is still really affordable. This primer is really great, and does the job perfectly (and it’s only about $10!). I also really love this bronzer, it has just the slightest amount of shimmer and isn’t crazy pigmented so it’s really easy to work with and build up.

Lorac Pro Palette

  1. Lorac Pro Palette

If you know anything about makeup, you would know how much this palette by Lorac has been raved about. I put this on my Christmas wish list, and was lucky enough to receive it off my parents. It really is an amazing palette, and I think the best thing about it is the variety in shimmer and mattes, and that all of the colours are really wearable for day or night. Even though the eye shadows are all great, I still think it is overpriced for what it is. I could probably find a cheaper palette (such as the Chi Chi ones), which would all do a similar job. In saying that, I am still very much in love with my Lorac palette!

November Beauty Faves

Can anyone else believe it is already nearing the end of November? It’s actually scaring me how fast this year has gone! I feels like yesterday it was January and today it is suddenly November. Just to scare you even more, there are only 5 weeks until Christmas! Anyway, I haven’t talked about my favourite beauty products in a while, so I thought it was about time I shared with you all what I have been loving lately. I’ve got four products to show you this month – Hopfully you love them just as much as I do!

Urban Decay

1. Urban Decay Setting Spray

I’ve been on the lookout for a good makeup setting spray for such a long time! I’ve bought a few cheap ones here and there, but couldn’t really tell they were doing anything, and didn’t love the pump. I thought I would invest in more of an expensive one, and I had heard so many good things about the Urban Decay line of setting sprays! It’s a bit tricky to find this here in Aus, so I ordered mine from Beauty Bay. I ABSOLUTELY love this! The mist is so fine that it doesn’t affect your makeup, and I really can see a difference when I have applied this. Definitely recommend this! P.S – has anyone tried the Urban Decay De Slick Oil? And, is it good?!

Australis

2. Australis Concealer Corrector Palette

Another product I have always wanted to give a go: A colour correcting wheel. This one from Australis is pretty cheap, but still does the job really well. Basically it comes with four different coloured concealers – green (for eliminating redness), lavender/purple (for brightening dark circles), and two shades of skin colour (to cover blemishes). I like to apply this product after primer, and before foundation. I will admit, it’s a little bit time consuming if you want to cover every blemish, but it’s worth it if you want a flawless base. I tend to only use this when I have a special occasion and want to really perfect my makeup.

NYX Butter Gloss

3. NYX Butter Gloss

Okay, so I feel like I’m the last person ever to jump on board the Butter Gloss fan group. It’s one of those products that I don’t know how I have survived this long in life without, haha. The smell of them alone makes me their number one fan, but their consistency and formula is so buttery and smooth it feels like heaven on your lips! The tints are also really good, they aren’t too pigmented and opaque for a gloss, but add just enough colour to be noticeable. So far I only have two shades (eclair and creme brûlée), which are both nude pinks. They look PERFECT over the top of any nude lipstick. I need to get more shades ASAP, any recommendations?

Victorias Secret

4. Victoria’s Secret Body Mist

These body mists are actually to die for. No exaggeration. They are perfect for everyday wear, because it’s such a fine mist that isn’t too over-powering. They are just so easy and quick to spray on, and have such beautiful scents that seem to linger for ages. I only have the flavours Midnight Exotics (Vanilla), Strawberries and Champagne, and Luscious Kisses (Coconut and Mango), and all three are amazing! They come at a reasonable price too, around $20-$25 depending where you get them. Again, it’s a little bit hard to find these in Aus, so I think you’re best bet is to search Ebay, where you can find every single flavour. Have you tried any?

Let me know what you have been loving this month in the comments below! x

Sydney IMATS Haul

This was my first time attending IMATS, and I honestly couldn’t contain my excitement! For any beauty and makeup lovers out there, it is literally your idea of heaven. This year, Sydney brought us some of the best brands and prices, and pulled together an amazing trade show. It’s really tricky to get your hands on some of the big names in makeup here in Australia, so having brands such as Limecrime, Sigma, Ben Nye and Inglot definitely made it worth the trip (and the 4.30am wakeup!).

So, let’s get straight into it, here are all the goodies I picked up this weekend! Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think; I can’t wait to start playing around with it all!

Ben Nye

Ben Nye

I’ve been a fan of Ben Nye ever since I bought the luxury cameo powder about three years ago, and I still have it to this day! The quality is amazing and it is definitely worth the money to buy a product that lasts so long. I’ve been searching high and low for a plum eyeshadow, and this one is TOO DIE FOR! I also picked up the banana powder and a pretty-pink blush, which I’m keen to try out.

Sigma

Sigma and Crown Brushes

Can we all just take a moment of silence to appreciate the fact that I am now the proud owner of two Sigma brushes? The hype around these brushes is insane, so of course I had to see for myself what I was apparently missing out on. I was planning to buy more than two, but at $36 a brush … I would have been in debt for the rest of my life. They do feel beautiful and soft though, so hopefully they are worth the price! I also grabbed two crown brushes, which were pretty cheap!

Mac Cosmetics

Mac

I love everything about Mac …. Except maybe the price tag. The Mac stall at IMATS was absolute mayhem, and it was obvious every single person wanted to get their hands on everything Mac. With 20% off everything, you are getting a pretty good deal, so of course I picked up another pro-longwear concealer (I have no words to describe the perfection of this product), and also got a lipstick in the shade ‘Japanese Maple’, which is a really beautiful nude!

Social Eyes and Model Rock Lashes

One of the highlights of the day was meeting the ever so beautiful Karissa Pukas, a.k.a Satnightalright from YouTube. She came to do a meet up, and generously gave away two pairs of lashes from her brand Social Eyes to everyone that came! I had such a fan girl moment; I’ll leave a photo of us together at the end of this post. I also got three pairs of Model Rock Lashes, at $3.95 a pair (BARGAIN!).

Beauty Blender

Beauty Blender

This is another product I have heard raved about over every social media platform. Apparently it makes your foundation and/or concealer look flawless, so I bought this double pack for $25, which I was pretty happy with! Now I can finally throw out my cheapo sponge and make room for these new beauties.
